Looking for a Billo alternative
Billo is cheaper per video and faster than we are. The difference is not creator quality. It is what happens to your money when a video comes back wrong, and how long that money stays good.
- Per asset, Billo is the cheaper buy. If cost per video is your deciding number, buy there and do not read on.
- Billo credits expire twelve months after purchase, and a refund covers the unused balance only, less a twenty-five per cent administration fee after thirty days.
- Billo's published refund terms address unused balance rather than a delivered video you cannot use. Ours put a reshoot in writing.
- We are slower and dearer. What that buys is perpetual paid usage, audio cleared for advertising, and recourse defined before anything is filmed.
Billo sells finished vertical video at a wallet price and turns it around in roughly a week and a half once your product lands with the creator. That is a genuine product and for plenty of small brands it is the right purchase. This page is not an argument that it is bad. It sets out where the two offers actually diverge, which is not the talent pool but the allocation of risk: who absorbs a video that does not work, whether the usage you were sold covers the advert you want to run, and what your prepaid balance is worth in month thirteen. Read the credit expiry and the refund clause before you top up, because those two lines decide whether a cheap video stays cheap.
What Billo is actually good at
Stated first because it is the honest order. Billo has solved a problem that most agencies, ours included, solve slowly and expensively.
- Speed. Seven to twelve days from the product reaching the creator is faster than any agency workflow that includes a briefing call.
- A low entry price. A five hundred dollar wallet pack with a base rate near ninety-nine dollars a video is the cheapest honest way to find out whether creator video moves anything for you.
- No account management to sit through. You brief in a form, you get video, you approve it. For a founder with two spare hours a week that is the point.
- Volume without negotiation. Ordering a tenth video costs the same as the first, which is not true of any bespoke arrangement.
If your situation is one product, one claim, and a need to test three hooks this fortnight, none of what follows should change your mind.
Where the model differs
Billo runs a prepaid marketplace. You load a wallet, the platform matches a creator to your order, and the platform's terms govern the transaction. We are the principal on a content package. We commission the creators ourselves, we hold the delivery risk, and the content is ours before we assign it onward to you.
That is the whole difference and it shows up in three places. The first is money: a prepaid balance is your capital sitting on someone else's books until you spend it. The second is recourse: a marketplace can refund what you have not spent, but the video you already approved is a closed matter. The third is rights depth, which is worth its own paragraph below.
Neither model is superior in the abstract. A prepaid balance is fine if you will spend it, and dangerous if your quarter goes sideways.
What it costs, both ways
Figures for Billo are as published and researched in 2026. Ours are on the packages page and do not change with a call.
| Line | Billo | Four Cents Media |
|---|---|---|
| Entry | Wallet packs from $500, base near $99 a video | $1,250 for six finished assets |
| Cost per asset | Roughly $99 and up | Roughly $208, falling to $200 on the larger packs |
| Revisions | 2 revision requests per piece | 1 round per hero video, 2 on the monthly packages |
| Turnaround | 7 to 12 days after the product arrives | 14 business days from the product arriving |
| Usage | Perpetual worldwide licence on approval | Perpetual worldwide, paid and organic, in the base price |
| Unusable asset | Refund covers unused balance only | Reshoot with a different creator at our cost |
| Balance expiry | Credits expire 12 months from purchase | No balance. A package is a fixed scope |
| Creator payment | PayPal, twice a month | Within 7 days of approval, method of their choosing |
On rights the two are closer than the price gap suggests. Billo grants a perpetual worldwide licence once you approve, which is genuinely better than several platforms that default to thirty days. Compare the music clearance separately, because a perpetual licence to the video does not by itself settle whether the track underneath it may run as an advert.
The clauses worth reading before you top up
Two of them, both published, both easy to miss when the headline number is ninety-nine dollars.
- Expiry. Credits lapse twelve months after purchase. Buy a large pack for a discount you will not use inside a year and the effective price per video quietly rises.
- Refunds. They apply to the unused portion of the balance, and after thirty days a twenty-five per cent administration fee is deducted. The policy is about money you have not spent, not about a video you have.
- Payouts. Creators are paid through PayPal twice monthly. Nothing wrong with that, and it is the reason a slice of experienced creators will not take marketplace work at all.
We are not suggesting any of this is hidden. It is all written down. The point is that comparing ninety-nine dollars against two hundred and eight dollars without reading those three lines compares two different things.
When Billo is the better buy
The cases where we would point you back to Billo.
- You need volume this month and cost per asset is the number the decision turns on. Billo is roughly half our price per video and we are not going to pretend otherwise.
- You are testing, not scaling. Buying twelve cheap variations to find one that works is a better use of a first thousand dollars than six carefully produced ones.
- Your turnaround matters more than your rights. Billo delivers in seven to twelve days from product arrival. We take fourteen business days and we will not beat that.
- You have an internal editor who can fix a weak cut. Half of what we charge for is the quality control you would then be paying for twice.
How to use both, and how to move
The sensible pattern for most brands under a million in revenue is not to choose. Use a wallet platform to test hooks cheaply, then commission properly once you know which angle works and want it in a form you can run as paid media for years.
- Spend a small wallet balance on three or four different opening lines for the same product.
- Watch the hold rate in the first three seconds rather than the like count. That is what you are buying.
- Take the winning hook to a package brief. We approve the hook before filming, so you are not paying to rediscover it.
- Keep the old assets running. Nothing about switching requires you to retire content you already licensed.
Questions
Is Billo cheaper than a content package?
Per asset, yes, clearly. A base rate near ninety-nine dollars a video against roughly two hundred and eight dollars an asset on our smallest package is not a close comparison. The gap narrows once you price in music clearance, a reshoot when something is unusable, and the fact that prepaid credits expire after twelve months, but it does not close. If cost per asset is your constraint, Billo wins it.
Does Billo give you full usage rights?
Billo grants a perpetual worldwide licence to the content once you approve it, which is better than several competitors whose paid advertising default is thirty days. Two things are worth checking separately. One is whether the licence covers the music as well as the footage, because platform audio libraries generally do not extend to brand advertising. The other is what rights you have to a video you rejected.
What happens at Billo if the video is not good enough?
You get two revision requests per piece. Beyond that, the published refund policy deals with the unused balance in your wallet rather than with a delivered video you do not want to run, and after thirty days a twenty-five per cent administration fee applies to that unused balance. Our answer to the same question is a written reshoot with a different creator at our cost, and that difference is most of what the price gap buys.
Can we run Billo videos as paid ads?
The licence granted on approval is perpetual and worldwide, so on the footage the answer is yes. The question to ask their team is about the soundtrack. If a creator used a trending in-app sound, the licence covering that sound is usually the platform's licence for organic posting, and it does not follow the video into your ad account. We only ever deliver licensed library music or original voiceover for that reason.
Do you match Billo on price?
No. We would have to remove the reshoot, the music clearance and the seven-day creator payment to get there, and those are the things that make the package worth buying. What we will do is tell you honestly when your brief is better served by a wallet platform, which happens often enough that it is written on this page rather than discovered on a call.
Competitor pricing, terms and policies change. Everything stated here was accurate as researched in 2026 and should be checked against current published terms before you buy. We do not guarantee results.
Already spending on a wallet platform?
Send the brief and the last three videos you bought. We will tell you whether a package would actually improve on them, including when it would not.
