Who we are

This site is operated by Four Cents Media, a division of Four Cents, at 49 Thorncliffe Park Dr, East York, ON M4H 1J6, Canada. Using the site means you accept these terms.

Information, not advice

Guides, calculators, benchmark ranges and anything else here are general information. They are not a quote, and they are not legal, tax, financial or marketing advice for your situation. Any work we do for you is governed by a written quote and the terms of supply, and where those differ from anything on this site, they win.

The calculators

They produce illustrative ranges from the numbers you type in. They run in your browser and we do not receive what you enter unless you submit a form. Real costs depend on the specifics of a job and can fall outside any range shown. Do not use them as the only basis for a decision that matters.

Numbers and third parties

Where we cite an industry figure we say where it came from. Those sources are not ours, we cannot vouch for them, and they change. Naming another company is identification for comparison only and does not imply any relationship with them.

Our content

The text, design, code and images here belong to Four Cents unless stated otherwise. Quote a short excerpt with attribution and a link if it is useful to you. Do not scrape it, republish it, resell it, or use it to train a model without asking us first.

Using the site properly

Do not attempt to break, overload or gain unauthorised access to the site or the systems behind it, do not submit anything false or on somebody else's behalf, and do not use the forms to send unsolicited commercial mail. We may refuse or ignore a submission, and we may block access, without explaining ourselves.

What we do not promise about the site

The site is supplied as it is. We do not promise it will be available without interruption, free of errors, or free of anything harmful, and we do not promise that any figure on it is current.

Where our liability stops

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss arising from using this site or relying on anything on it, including lost profit, lost revenue or wasted spend. If a limit of liability is required for us to be liable at all, ours is capped at one hundred Canadian dollars, which reflects that this site is free to use. None of this limits liability for death, personal injury or fraud.

Links out

We link to other sites where it is useful. We do not control them and we are not responsible for what is on them.

Changes

We update these terms as the business changes, and the version date below tells you when. If a change is material we will date it clearly rather than quietly edit it.

Law

Ontario law, and the courts of Ontario. If any part of these terms is unenforceable, the rest still stands.
