JoinBrands alternative

Looking for a JoinBrands alternative

JoinBrands has a deep bench and a fee that falls as you subscribe higher. It is a volume instrument. We are a small shop selling a defined scope, which is a different purchase.

The short version
  • JoinBrands has far more creators available than our roster and can fill a large order quickly. That is a real advantage.
  • The marketplace fee drops from fifteen to eight per cent as the monthly plan rises from nothing to four hundred and ninety-nine dollars, so the maths changes with your volume.
  • Included revisions are tied to the plan you are on, from one at the free tier to ten at the top. Check which tier you are actually buying.
  • Creator video starts around twenty-five dollars with defaults in the sixty to one hundred range. We cost several times that and only make sense at a different kind of brief.

JoinBrands sells throughput. You post a job, creators apply, you pick, and the platform takes a percentage that shrinks as your subscription grows. There is a floor of about twenty-five dollars on a creator video and defaults that usually land between sixty and one hundred, which makes it one of the cheapest routes to a pile of vertical footage anywhere in this market. What you are not buying is a casting opinion, a claim check, or anyone who owns the outcome. This page lays out the fee ladder against our fixed prices and then says plainly which brief belongs on which side, because the answer genuinely depends on volume rather than on quality.

What JoinBrands is actually good at

Filling orders. If you need thirty pieces of footage in a fortnight and your own team will handle the editing and the selection, this is a very efficient way to get them.

  • Depth of supply. Creators apply to your job rather than you hunting for them, which inverts the effort.
  • A fee that rewards volume. Eight per cent at the top plan against fifteen at the free one is a meaningful saving if you are spending consistently.
  • A genuinely low floor. Twenty-five dollars for a creator video exists, and for simple unboxing footage it can be enough.
  • Plan-tiered revisions. Ten included rounds at the highest tier is more than most agencies write into a scope, ours included.

None of that is faint praise. For a store with a hundred products and an ad account that eats footage, throughput is the whole problem and this solves it.

Where the model differs

The platform is a labour market. Price is set by what creators will accept, and quality varies accordingly, which is exactly what a market is supposed to do. We are not a market. We commission a named creator for a defined brief at a fee agreed with them in writing, and we are contractually on the hook for the result.

The practical consequence is where the selection effort sits. Sorting forty applications to a job posting is work, and it is skilled work, because the signal in an application is thin. If you are good at it and have the hours, that labour is worth more to you than our margin. If you are not, the cheap footage gets expensive in a way that never appears on an invoice.

A twenty-five dollar video and a two hundred dollar video are not the same product priced differently. They are different products.

What it costs, both ways

Plan tiers and fees below are as researched in 2026. Note that the creator fee sits on top of the subscription in every case.

Work the ladder before you assume the top plan is cheaper. Four hundred and ninety-nine dollars a month to move from fifteen per cent to eight only pays for itself above roughly seven thousand dollars of monthly creator spend, and below that a lower tier is the better buy.

What a low floor actually costs you

Not a warning, an accounting exercise. Cheap footage is only cheap if you can use it.

  1. Hit rate. If three of ten pieces are runnable, a sixty dollar video is a two hundred dollar video with extra admin.
  2. Selection time. An hour spent reading applications is an hour of someone's salary, and it recurs with every job.
  3. Rights variance. Usage agreed job by job means a library where some clips can run as adverts and some cannot, which surfaces at the worst moment.
  4. Audio. Trending in-app sound is licensed for a creator posting organically. Running it in your ad account is a different question and it does not have a platform answer.

For some brands every one of those is fine. A performance team with an editor and a lawyer handles all four before lunch. A three-person startup usually does not.

When JoinBrands is the better buy

Four situations where we would not bid.

  • You need scale now. JoinBrands can fill a thirty-asset order from a standing pool of applicants and our roster cannot do that this month.
  • Your budget per asset is under a hundred dollars. At that level we are simply not in the market and saying so is more useful than a discount.
  • You want lots of revision rounds included. Ten at the top plan is more than we write into a package, and for a fussy internal approver that matters.
  • Your footage is functional rather than persuasive. For hands-and-product clips, paying for casting judgement buys you very little.

How to run both at once

This is the arrangement we most often recommend to brands already using a volume platform, and it does not involve cancelling anything.

  1. Keep the platform for commodity footage: product in hand, unboxing, simple demonstration, anything where the creator is a pair of hands.
  2. Commission properly where a person has to carry a claim, hold a hook, or be the face associated with your brand for years.
  3. Use the winners from the cheap batch as the brief for the expensive one. Knowing what worked is worth more than any creative call.
  4. Re-run the fee maths each quarter. Your spend moves and the right plan tier moves with it.
If you are not sure which half of your footage is commodity and which is not, send us both and we will mark it up for free.

Questions

Which JoinBrands plan is actually cheapest?

It depends entirely on monthly creator spend, and the free tier is often correct. Moving from the free plan at fifteen per cent to the top plan at eight per cent saves seven per cent of spend against a four hundred and ninety-nine dollar subscription, so the break-even sits near seven thousand dollars a month. Below that the subscription costs more than the fee saving. Do the sum with your own number before upgrading.

Is a twenty-five dollar video any good?

Sometimes, for a narrow job. Hands holding a product, a simple demonstration, a clip that will sit in the middle of an edit you control. What it very rarely produces is a performing hook, because that depends on a person who can hold attention and those people do not work at that rate for long. Judge it on your hit rate across ten pieces rather than on any single result.

Do you charge a subscription?

No. There is no monthly licence, no platform fee and no minimum term on anything we sell. A content package is a one-off price for a defined scope, and the only recurring product we have is the monthly package, which carries a three-month minimum and then stops whenever you want. Creators pay us nothing either, in any direction.

Can we get our money back if the content is poor?

On a platform you generally get the revision rounds your plan includes, and after that reordering is the remedy. Our position is a written reshoot: if an asset is unusable after the included revisions and the brief was clear, we shoot it again with a different creator at our own cost. What neither of us will do is refund because the content did not sell enough, which is a product and media question rather than a production one.

Can we use both?

Yes, and a lot of our clients do. The split that works is commodity footage on the volume platform and commissioned work where a claim, a face or a long-lived paid asset is involved. The one thing worth keeping consistent across both is your rights position, because a library where half the clips expire is harder to manage than either source on its own.

Plan tiers, fee percentages and creator floors change. Figures here were accurate as researched in 2026 and should be checked against current published terms. We do not guarantee campaign results.

Buying footage by the batch?

Send us your last ten pieces and the ad results. We will say which were worth what you paid and whether a commissioned batch would beat them.
